SSP-100 Single Channel RS-232 Serial PCMCIA One RS-232 serial interface PCMCIA Card Services Specification 2.1 compliant Client software driver for DOS and OS/2 Windows 95/98 Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 compatible 16550 UART with 16-byte FIFO standard Selectable and shareable interrupts (IRQ 3-7, 9-12, 14, 15) Selectable I/O base address Compatible with most hand-held computers running under Windows CEThe SSP-100 is a PCMCIA card which adds a RS-232 serial adapter to the system. It can be used in any laptop, notebook, or hand-held computer with a Type II PCMCIA drive or in a desktop computer equipped with a compatible PCMCIA drive.
The SSP-100 provides a standard RS-232 interface that is implemented with a 16550 UART. The UART contains a 16-byte transmit and receive FIFO for increased performance in multi-tasking environments, and for applications involving high data rates.
By default, the SSP-100 will be assigned to the lowest COM port available. However, users may select the particular COM port to which the SSP-100 is assigned. In addition, users may specify any interrupt level and any I/O space base address for the SSP-100.
All necessary software is included to install and configure the card for use with DOS/Windows 3.x, OS/2, Windows 95/98, and Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000. Though we do not provide specialized drivers, the SSP-100 has been found to work in many hand-held computers using Windows CE. |
