QSP-100 Four Channel RS-232 Serial PCMIA Card Four independent RS-232 serial interfaces PCMCIA Card Services Specification 2.1 compliant Client software driver for DOS and OS/2 Windows 95/98/NT/2000 compatible 16550 UARTs with 16-bybte FIFOs standard Selectable abd shareable interrupts (IRQ 3-7, 9-12, 14, 15) Selectable I/O base addressThe QSP-100 is a PCMCIA card which adds four fully independent RS-232 serial ports to the system. It can be used in any laptop or notebook computer with a Type II PCMCIA drive, or in a desktop computer equipped with a compatible PCMCIA drive.
The QSP-100 is implemented with 16550 UARTs that contain 16-byte transmit and receive FIFOs for increased performance in multi-tasking environments, and with applications involving high data rates. Each of these UARTs requires eight bytes of I/O space when enabled, thus the QSP-100 must be located on an even 32-byte (20H) boundary, and users may select on which I/O address space the card will be located (e.g. 300H, 320H, 240H, etc.). The four serial ports on the QSP-100 can share a single interrupt using an interrupt status register to indicate which of the four ports triggered the interrupt. This interrupt status register is implemented on the UART's seldom used "ScratchPad" register. If an application requires use of the UART's ScratchPad Registers, the interrupt status register can be easily disabled.
All necessary software is included to install and configure the QSP-100 for use with DOS/Windows 3.x, OS/2, Windows 95/98, Windows NT and Windows 2000. |
